Jerry Steiner
Executive Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Monsanto Company
As Monsanto Company’s Executive Vice President of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Jerry Steiner leads the company’s global Government and Public and Industry Affairs teams across the 70 countries where Monsanto conducts business. Key among his responsibilities are shaping the company’s public policy and building partnerships aimed at helping farmers around the world produce more food, while conserving valuable resources like water and energy.
Steiner represents the company at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he serves as chair of The New Vision for Agriculture Project Board. He is a director of the Keystone Center, which convenes public, private and civic leaders to address societal issues. He is a founder and board member of the Global Harvest Initiative, a public-private initiative whose mission is to sustainably double agricultural production by 2050. Steiner is a member of the CropLife International Plant Biotechnology Strategy Council, an Executive Committee member of the Council for Biotechnology Information and is a director of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Steiner joined the Nidus board in 2009 bringing expertise in building and developing strong partnerships.
Steiner received a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from Washington University.
